Today was the official last day of school where we basically cleaned our rooms and other parts of the school to get ready for next year. It was a nice and relaxing day without any kids milling about which was wonderful. It was also a cool day because my Dad bought a new truck. At 70 he decided that he needs a new vehicle! So him and my Mom went to the dealership today to pick it up.
Today was a great day not because it was Friday but because my first class at DC, a grade 4 class, graduated from high school! I was very proud of these kids as they were an absolutely great bunch when I had them in grade 4 and later in grade 6. I had a great time catching up with them and their parents (some of whom I had bevy’s with a few days ago). Many of them are going on to higher education which is terrific and some aren’t which okay as well since they’re happy.
For the record DC students were Top Overall in Grade 8, 9, 10, and 11. The valedictorian should also have been a DC student!
It’s funny, I recognized most of the girls but the boys all changed! They all grew up so much I didn’t know who I was talking to!! Here are the photos of the day!
My school is splitting into 2 for the next year but unfortunately the new school isn’t ready yet. It probably won’t be ready until January of 2011 so that means a few more students attending DC. The other day they delivered 3 absolutely horrendous looking portables for the “new” school. Not too sure why they all came at once like this but it could have something to do with the 2 truckloads of furniture and no place to put it.
